The Legion HPC cluster

The core of our HPC@PoliTO infrastructure is the LEGION cluster, which has been deployed in 2020 and underwent a major upgrade beetween 2024 and 2025. The Legion cluster has been designed as a trade-off between different computational necessities of many research groups at Politecnico di Torino. It currently consists of the following computational resources, divided between two macro-partitions (“Isole”) based on different hardware generations.

  • 52 CPU-only compute nodes

CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon 6130 (16 cores each)

RAM: 384 GB DDR4

  • 6 GPU-based nodes

GPU: 4 x NVIDIA V100 SXM 32 GB
