The Administration Virtual Assistant project aims to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to optimize the administrative activities of the Politecnico di Torino. The goal is to provide technical-administrative staff (PTA) with intelligent support for performing repetitive or time-consuming tasks, improving process efficiency, enhancing service quality, and guiding the University’s departments in the transition toward a digital and intelligent public administration. The project is structured in multiple experimental phases, already underway, and aims for the gradual adoption of AI solutions that are effective, sustainable, and compliant with University policies. In recent years, technological advancements have made powerful and accessible generative AI solutions available, capable of assisting humans in performing complex tasks. In the academic-administrative context, the adoption of intelligent virtual assistants can bring significant benefits, including time savings, operational simplification, automation of repetitive tasks, and improvement in work quality. The Politecnico di Torino has launched pilot experiments to evaluate their concrete effectiveness and define a scalable adoption model.
