The HPC@PoliTO initiative provides computing resources for research and teaching activities to hundreds of users at the Politecnico di Torino. HPC@PoliTO users include thesis students, PhD candidates, researchers, faculty members, and student groups across all departments of the Politecnico. HPC@PoliTO’s computing resources contribute to all major research areas active at the Politecnico di Torino, ranging from computational fluid dynamics to physical chemistry, and from bioinformatics to generative AI.
The HPC cluster “Legion” consolidates high-performance computing resources within a centralized infrastructure. Users access a common login interface, through which they can submit their workloads and choose among different specialized hardware options. Computing resources are shared among users via a dedicated scheduler, which manages job requests and allocates resources fairly.
