Operations

We operate for all personnel working within the University, serving as the main point of contact for IT-related matters and as the first level of resolution for issues concerning the IT services provided by the Directorate through direct support. Additionally, we directly manage the delivery of certain commonly used IT services, such as mobile telephony, remote signature issuance, and printing services. Within the Directorate, we handle activities that span all offices, supporting their operations in logistical, administrative, and accounting matters. Our priority is to ensure availability, reliability, and high performance for all users.

Manager: Elisa Zanone

The staff

  • We provide IT support to internal staff, handling activation requests, inquiries, and reports, resolving first-level issues, or directing more complex problems to advanced technical support

  • We manage administrative and technical relations with the provider supplying mobile telephony services under the CONSIP agreement. This includes initial assignment, replacement (in case of theft, loss, or obsolescence), and deactivation of SIM cards and mobile devices, in compliance with internal directives. We assist users with hardware and software malfunctions and collaborate with other Directorate colleagues for more complex issues. We also process mobile telephony costs and request reimbursement from the users’ own research funds when applicable

  • As Registration Authority Officers (RAO), we are involved in issuing remote digital signature certificates to all internal users who need to digitally sign documents related to their institutional activities. We provide assistance with using and renewing the digital signature provided by Politecnico, reissuing it if the user fails to renew on time, and liaising with the accredited Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) for more complex issues

  • For Central Administration users, we manage the provision of peripherals, consumables, and individual support equipment for smart working. We oversee the printing infrastructure supporting all administrative activities across the University, managing systems, ensuring proper capacity, and monitoring aggregated consumption. We also handle workstation relocations in case of staff transfers within Central Administration, as well as the collection of obsolete IT equipment previously provided by the Directorate.
