How to set up email with Outlook mobile app

The Microsoft Outlook app on smartphones and tablets can be used to read and send Politecnico email. Setting up your @studenti.polito.it address on Outlook requires just a few taps and allows you to receive instant notifications.

Below is the complete step-by-step guide.

Open the Outlook app. On the welcome screen, tap Add Account.

Enter your PoliTO student email address in the Email field. Tap Add Account.

After Step 2, return to the previous screen and tap Set Up Account Manually.

On the "Add Email Account" screen, select IMAP in the Advanced section.

Enter the following information:

  • Email address: your PoliTO student email address
  • Display name: your name
  • Description: PoliTO Email

incoming email server settings (IMAP)

  • IMAP Host Name: imap.studenti.polito.it
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • Port Security: SSL
  • IMAP Username: your full PoliTO student email address
  • IMAP Password: your PoliTO email password

outgoing email server settings (SMTP)

  • SMTP Host Name: smtp.studenti.polito.it
  • SMTP Port: 465
  • Port Security: SSL
  • SMTP Username: your full PoliTO student email address
  • SMTP Password: your PoliTO email password

Make sure Use Advanced Settings is enabled. Then tap Sign In. Outlook will verify the account settings and connect to the PoliTO mail server.

Once configuration is successfully completed, Outlook will open your Inbox. The Inbox view confirms that your PoliTO email account has been added successfully.
