ISIAD Directorate, July 20, 2026
Below is the detailed schedule of interventions planned for July and August 2026, carried out in collaboration with the PROGES Directorate. These are part of the University's electrical infrastructure upgrade plan and will help enhance the reliability and resilience of the Politecnico's infrastructure and services.
To enable the upgrade activities on the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, a planned shutdown of part of the network infrastructure will take place.
Maintenance Window
- Friday, July 31 – from 16:00 to 20:00 (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM).
Impact on Services
During the maintenance window, network connectivity will be unavailable at the locations and facilities listed below. In addition, temporary unavailability of some University IT services, particularly the OpenStack Cloud service, may occur until the maintenance is completed.
Affected Locations
- Main Campus (Sede Centrale):
- Central Administration (including the Rectorate and Main Entrance/Reception);
- Premises of the PROGES, INCAM, and ISIAD Directorates;
- Premises of the DISMA, DISEG, DISET, DENERG, and DIATI Departments;
- Aula Magna, Emma Strada Hall, and adjacent offices;
- Classrooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 3D, 5D, and 8;
- Computer Labs LAIB 1, LAIB 3, LAIB 4, and LAIB 5;
- Central Engineering Library, study rooms, and classrooms in the same building;
- Prefabricated structures in Piazzale Sobrero;
- All satellite campuses (Castello del Valentino, Lingotto, Mirafiori, and other connected sites).
Upon completion of the maintenance work, connectivity and affected services will be progressively restored.
As announced by the PROGES Directorate, extraordinary maintenance on the main electrical substation of the Main Campus will take place from August 9 to 14, causing a power outage in the buildings of the Main Campus and the Cittadella Politecnica.
Impact on IT Services
To allow for the controlled shutdown of the IT infrastructure, HPC and OpenStack Cloud services will be suspended starting August 7.
However, all Teaching and Administration Services will remain fully operational, including:
- Institutional websites;
- MyPoli;
- Teaching Portal (Portale della Didattica), Moodle, Exams, SID;
- Email and Microsoft 365 services.
Upon completion of the work on the electrical grid, final maintenance work on the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems will be carried out.
Maintenance Window
- Monday, August 24 – from 16:00 to 20:00 (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM).
